Representatives from MUSC Children's Hospital and/or the Burned Children's Fund will be at the following upcoming events: 12th Annual Camp 'Can' Do, Camp St. Christopher, Seabrook Island, SC June 28-July 3, 2008 South Carolina Fire-Rescue Conference of the South Carolina State Firefighters' Association, Myrtle Beach, SC July 14-20, 2008: A HUGE thank you to Anderson Fire & Safety who donated the fire helmet for our raffle! Columbia Professional Firefighters Association Local 793 Family Picnic Day: Saturday August 23, 2008. Thank you Columbia Firefighters for a wonderful picnic and the generous donation for Camp 'Can' Do! River Dogs Sunday Family Fun Day: Sunday August 24, 2008. Many thanks to Richard Sheffield, Ken Gypin, Rocky Homesley, and Ken Evans for participating in this event. More than 100 children and families received burn awareness and fire prevention information and the Fire Safety Temporary Tattoos were a big hit!

The "Some Gave All" Fallen Heroes Foundation visited MUSC Children's Hospital on Saturday September 27, 2008. Membership in this foundation supports non-profit charitable organizations that honor fallen firefighters and police officers. Foundation members Henry and Barbara Hahn and Elena Nicholas presented the Burned Children's Fund and Camp 'Can' Do with a generous donation and included a print by Michael Israel that depicts a firefighter holding a child. The print is to be placed outside the Burn Hydrotherapy Room in the Children's Hospital.
